From what I remember you can buy a 3-valleys upgrade for a day, which doesn't mean you have to commit to a weekly ticket. Don't remember what it costs but could be an alternative (if they still do it).

Maybe you can buy an upgrade for your Val Thorens pass for just one day, if they still sell it. Went with UCPA a number of years ago and did just that when we decided to 'do' the 3 valleys.

This raises a question for me. Live in Skåne and will kiteski a little if we get enough snow coverage. I have a pair of straight pre-carving skis, bought the same year carving started to break into the stores around '95. I won't be buying skis for my resort skiing as I prefer to rent but...
